Even though the PVA based grinding stone comes in hard in nature, and it is a common commodity for precision surface finishing. However, the texture on the surface is determined by the grinding stone abrasive and unable to go below.

The launch of PVA polish sponge pad has given the industry more margin on bringing down the surface roughness or achieve mirror-like surface finishing. Due to the final appearance, some has named the sponge as buffing pad.
