PVA foam wiper has an excellent water absorption capability. Our wiper foam design original uses in the cleaning process, however, some have expanded the application to household application.

The two sport sectors, the swimming pool and gym, are always come with water and sweating. The PVA foam wiper becomes a good alternative to replace cotton towel.

Let us compare the PVA foam water absorption capability with other fabric, such as foam wiper, cotton cloth and microfibre.

The PVA Foam Characteristic

A foam is a spongy material which has an open-cell structure. The nanosize open-cell microstructure properties become an inter-connect waterway. Furthermore, the waterway and cell structure also enhance the water absorption capability for PVA foam wiper.

Apart from good water absorption rate, the material also provides a good mechanical property, such as tensile strength and durability. This makes the PVA foam a suitable material for the industrial cleaning process.

During the process, the liquefy PVA solution also supports converting the solution to form another pattern by converting a difference in manufacturing mould. For instance, the PVA foam wiper and sponge block are the two products we develop to fulfil the industrial cleaning process.

PVA Water Absorption Capability

We are introducing the water absorption capability for PVA foam wiper. The porous structure consists of a large surface area so that it forms a good surface tension force so that it is able to “hold” a large amount of water.

The waterway within the foam not only allow water to pass-by but also provides sufficient space for water storage. The foam cell structure becomes the reservoir to store the absorb water.

Compare with Other Common Fabric Materials

There is much fabric in the market. All are having a different characteristic. In term of absorption capability, PVA foam still the best among all fabric material.

We have performed several tests to compare the water absorption holding capacity among PVA foam, cotton and micro fabric. Cotton is the most common fabric, we use cotton fabric for the cloth to ensure good moisture absorption. Micro-fabric is a composite of plastic and cotton material, the fabric is specially patterned so that the structure could contain water as much as possible.

As we reveal early, the porous structure of PVA foam is the best water detention capability. We will compare the weight difference of individual fabric before and after water absorption. The PVA foam wiper able to detain the water amount about 10 times of it own weight.
